A big thanks to Mark Fitzgerald and the Hercules club for hosting a very successful IDFPA Single Lift championships. An excellent venue with top equipment which was conducive to good lifting.
This was the 1st ever IDFPA competition where World records could be broken (and several were!).

Congratulations to Dave Fitzhenry and Stephen Moloney who both passed the IDFPA referees exam and officiated at the Single Lift champs.

STATEMENT BY THE W.D.F.P.F. PRESIDENT

It is with pleasure that I can announce the re-affiliation of the WNPF to the World Drug-Free Powerlifting Federation. From this point the interests of the W.D.F.P.F. in the USA will be exclusively represented by the WNPF, who will be our sole USA affiliate.

The bid for the 2004 WDFPF World Championships & Congress has been approved. This event will take place in Norcross, Atlanta, USA on 19/20/21 November.

I take this opportunity to welcome Troy Ford and his associates once again as members of our international drug-free body, and look forward to a lengthy and productive working relationship between our two organizations.

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has announced that from 1st January 2004 both caffeine and pseudo-ephedrine will no longer be banned. Instead the testing agencies will inform WADA of the total number of positives in order to monitor the usage of these substances. There will be no punishment for the athlete.

Please note that the WDFPF (the IDFPA governing body) will decide whether to adopt these changes and to continue to use the full IOC/WADA banned list or to continue to have these substances on the banned list. The outcome will be published on both the WDFPF and this website.
