Achievements : Rick is probably one of the most active drug-free strength athletes in
the British Isles. He competes in the IAWA, WDFPF and BAWLA.
He was one of the original lifters in the BAWG which was the parent association of the BDFPA.
Although he is still young, he has been lifting for over 14 years and is still improving!

WDFPF :
2003 : 82.5 World Champion.
          82.5k Irish champion (best assisted lifter award)
2002 : 82.5k Worlds Champs - 2nd.
          British Team event winner (290k squat)
2001 : 82.5k (700k total) 2nd in the World
          90k European champion (690k total)
          82.5k British (692.5 total) & Irish champion.
2000 : 82.5k British & European Champion & 2^nd in the World.

IAWA :
Britain's best Allrounder 11 times since 1988. World 75kg Champion 1988,99,90 & 91
(best lifter in tournament 90 & 91)

British postal league Champions (Sunbury Club) every year since 1988.

Edward Aston Scheme winner (front squat,clean & jerk & one hand snatch) 1988 to 92
1995 to 2000. Best lifts in this scheme : front squat 200kg @ 82.5 kg

Clean & jerk 140 kg @ 80kg

70kg one hand snatch @ 82.5kg

Holder of the World record in several of the lifts. Best ones:

One hand dumbbell swing 164.24lbs @ 150lbs body weight and 78.75k @ 72.25k.
(This is also in excess of the BAWLA record.)

NB : He is the only man in the world in any association to have achieved a body weight
swing since before the Second World War and remember it used to be one of the Olympic events!

BAWLA :
Winner of the lift of the quarter scheme 98,99, 2000 & 2001. Winner of all 4 lifts in 1999,
the first man in 28 year history of the event

Ambition : To win the WDFPF world title [See above - this was achieved in 2003]
